A crew member, Point Pleasant Beach, New Jersey resident Taylor Flannery, was injured.
It's not yet clear exactly what caused the incident, though officials say the vessel, "Moonstruck," capsized in the Oregon Inlet, which connects the massive Pamlico Sound to the Atlantic Ocean.
Hennigan's obituary notes that he was a devoted fisherman and captain who had traveled the waters of the east coast, Caribbean, Central America, and South America extensively.
Funeral services are planned for Tuesday, Oct. 28 in Chester Springs.
