3,300+ Students Graduate West Chester University This Weekend

Motorists can expect traffic backups in and around the university as commencement ceremonies are set for Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

WEST CHESTER, PA —Motors can expect traffic in and around West Chester University to be congested this weekend with more than 3,300 students graduating from the university.

Parents, friends, and other family members will be attending 15 commencement ceremonies throughout the weekend.

There are 2,465 students eligible to graduate at West Chester University’s undergraduate schools and 854 eligible to graduate from graduate-level ceremonies.

The main campus ceremonies take place between Friday and Sunday in Emilie K. Asplundh Concert Hall in Philips Memorial Building, 700 South High St., and at Hollinger Field House, 150 University Ave.

Undergraduate students will graduate by department and college. The procession for each hour-long ceremony begins 15 minutes before the ceremony starts.

Sunday in West Chester: Two ceremonies for the 854 graduate-level candidates.

  • A 3 p.m. ceremony in Hollinger for graduates of the College of Education and Social Work and the College of Health Sciences.
  • A 6 p.m. ceremony in Hollinger for graduates of the Colleges of Arts & Humanities, Business & Public Management, Sciences & Mathematics, and the School of Music.

Saturday in Philadelphia: Two commencement ceremonies for May and August 2023 graduates on Saturday at the Hilton Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing.

  • At 9:30 undergraduate ceremony will begin.
  • At noon graduate program ceremonies will begin.
