Accused West Chester Assailant Guilty In Past Of Similar Charges

A West Chester man charged with burglary and simple assault has twice in the past pleaded guilty to simple assault.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A West Chester man who police say busted into an apartment and assaulted its resident has previously pleaded guilty to simple assault, witness intimidation, and stalking, according to court records.

A 34-year-old man who police allege broke into a West Chester apartment also reportedly assaulted a person inside the residence before fleeing. West Chester Police were called to an apartment in the 300 block of W. Washington St. when a disturbance was reported on May 26 around 6:45 p.m.

Police investigated and reported that David Wade, of West Chester, had forced his way into an apartment and once inside allegedly assaulted the person who lived there. Police said Wade had fled the apartment before officers arrived.

Wade is charged with Burglary, Criminal Trespass, and Simple Assault, according to a police report. Police said Wade awaits a preliminary hearing in Chester County District Court.

Wade has pleaded guilty to charges in the past, according to Chester County court records. In 2005 he pleaded guilty to Theft; in 2008, to Simple Assault; in 2010 to Simple Assault, Stalking with Repeatedly Communicating to Cause Fear, Intimidation of a Witness/Victim, and Terroristic Threats with Intent to Terrorize Another.
