Astros’ West Chester Native McCormick Faces Phillies In World Series
Everybody is talking about the Phillies fans storming the World Series Game in Citizens Bank Park with deep Philly-style passion.

Thousands of fans in Philadelphia Metropolitan and South Jersey areas will be storming into Citizens Bank Park for Game 3 of the World Series.
Chester native Chas McCormick, 27, will play on his childhood field of dreams, Citizens Bank Park, in the World Series as a Houston Astro, a rival of the Philadelphia Phillies.

It’s the stadium where red lights will flash on a Liberty Bell for each Philly home run.
Everybody is hopeful for a Philadelphia win in Game 3, which begins at 8:03 p.m. Tuesday.

A classmate of McCormick, who was at a gathering in Philadelphia Saturday, proudly mentioned to partygoers that she went to Henderson High in West Chester with McCormick, who graduated in 2013.
She looks forward to watching her former classmate play in the World Series.
She’s not alone. Nearly 12,000 students are in the West Chester Area School District and they and also alumni will likely be rooting for McCormack and the Phillies,too.
Dr. Bob Sokolowski, West Chester schools superintendent, said everyone knows McCormick.
“We have many passionate Phillies fans in our school district, but I think they would all agree that no matter who wins the World Series, we all win.” said Sokolowski, who was the principal at West Chester Henderson High School when McCormick was on the baseball team.
Sokolowski said it was obvious that McCormick would go far in his baseball career.
"We are all rooting for Chas!" he said.
McCormick was four-time All Ches-Mont League. He played college baseball for Millersville University.
McCormick, who grew up as a diehard Phillies fan, was drafted by the Astros in the 21st round in 2017.
Special foods at Citizens Bank Park including pumpkin pie cannoli and Bryce Crispy Donuts from Federal Donuts tops with Phillies red marshmallow glaze will add to the festivities.
The regular favorites Tony Lukes, Manco & Manco Pizza and Yuengling Pavilion, and more will also be available.
The seven-game series is tied 1-1. Tickets are going for $737 for standing room to $3,764.
