Attempted Carjackings Land Chester County Man In Jail
The suspect attempted to carjack drivers in two vehicles but was unsuccessful.
OXFORD, PA —A 38-year-old Oxford man attempted two carjackings at the Oxhaven Apartments in the 700 block of Conowingo Circle on July 29 but was unsuccessful in both attempts.
Warren Hatfield is in Chester County Prison in lieu of $20,000 bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of robbery of a motor vehicle, recklessly endangering another person, and related offenses.
Police said Hatfield opened the passenger door of the first victim and instructed her to drive away. The victim refused and exited the vehicle. Next, police said, Hatfield tried to drive away but was unable to drive the car.

Hatfield then attempted to enter another vehicle through the driver’s window, but the driver pushed him away.
Residents were able to keep Hatfield on location until police arrived. He was then transported to the Oxford police department, where he was processed and turned over to constables for transport to Chester County Prison.

Police said they were hoping to interview the second victim, but were unable to the victim.
