Avondale Man Drove With High BAC And Two Children: Police
A man stopped at 2 a.m. over the holiday weekend had a BAC 3 times the legal limit and children in his car, Southern Chesco police allege.
AVONDALE, PA — An Avondale man was driving with his blood alcohol at three times the legal limit on 2 a.m. Sunday when police stopped him for erratic driving and found two children in his car.
Celion Gatica-Perez, 47, of Avondale, is charged with Endangering the Welfare of Children, DUI, Recklessly Endangering Another Person, and related traffic offenses after police stopped him for erratic driving just before 2 a.m. on May 30, according to Southern Chester County Regional Police.
Gatica-Perez was stopped at 1:56 a.m. in the 800 block of Newark Road in New Garden Township, police said. Officers reported Gatica-Perez showed signs of intoxication and said sobriety tests showed he was impaired.

Two children were also in the vehicle when Gatica-Perez was stopped, according to the police report.
Police said Gatica-Perez was transported for a chemical breath test which showed his Blood Alcohol Content at .228 percent, more than three times the legal limit of .08 percent.

Police reported they took Gatica-Perez to the Chester County Prison for arraignment. He was released on bail and awaits a preliminary hearing, a report said.
