Back To School: West Chester Area School District 2022-23 Calendar
Parents can mark the first day of school at Monday, Aug. 29.

WEST CHESTER, PA — Back-to-school planning has already begun in the West Chester Area School District, with calendars available to help parents prepare for the first day.
That calendar you may keep on your refrigerator can be filled in with days when school is closed.
The district’s current health and safety plan remains that wearing masks to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is optional.

If Chester County increases to a high level, the district will consult with the Chester County Health Department to determine if universal masking is necessary.
Children in ALL grades (K-12) need the following vaccines:

- Four (4) doses of tetanus, diphtheria, and acellular pertussis* (1 dose on or after 4th birthday)
- Four (4) doses of polio (4th dose on or after 4th birthday, and at least 6 months after previous dose given)**
- Two (2) doses of measles, mumps, and rubella*** (given after 12 months of age)
- Three (3) doses of hepatitis B
- Two (2) doses of varicella (chickenpox), or evidence of immunity
The first day of school for students is Monday, Aug. 29.
- School Closed: Monday, Sept. 26, Teacher in-service day
- School Closed: Wednesday, Oct. 5
- Thanksgiving Break: Nov. 23-25
- Winter Break: Dec. 23-Jan. 2
- Spring Break: April 6-April 10
- Last Day: June 15
