Beware Of Skimming Devices On ATM Machines: Caln Police
Police said scammers are placing skimming devices, which are card readers disguised to look like part of an ATM.
CALN, PA — Caln Township police are investigating a debit card skimming device that was hidden last week on the inside of a PNC Automated Teller Machine at the Wawa, 3025 Lincoln Highway.
A skimmer is a device that is installed on card readers that collects card numbers.
Thieves will use the device to create fake debit and credit cards and steal from victims’ accounts.

In the Caln Township case, the device is believed to have been installed on Thursday, Oct. 5 and discovered the same day.
Police said the skimming device is believed to have the capability to capture data from the debit card and is also capable of recording the PIN number. Criminals can use that information to clone your debit card.

Anyone who attempted to use a debit card on the ATM machine at the Wawa address is encouraged to contact your banking institution and advise that your debit card may have been compromised.
