Bicyclist Fatally Struck By Police Vehicle In West Goshen

Police are investigating the Feb. 19 fatal bicyclist crash on South High Street.

WEST GOSHEN, PA— A bicyclist was struck and killed by a police vehicle at 10:16 a.m. Sunday on South High Street, police reported.

West Goshen police said the department was notified at 10:16 a.m. of a collision involving a Westtown-East Goshen police vehicle and a cyclist.

The cyclist was pronounced dead at the scene. The identity of the cyclist and the police officer are being withheld.

The initial investigation disclosed the cyclist was riding north on South High Street in the area of the Route 202 overpass when the cyclist was struck by a police vehicle also driving north on South High Street.

West Goshen Police Department is conducting an investigation. The Chester County District Attorney’s office will review the case.
