Brian Dawkins Golf Tournament Raises $90,000 For Underserved
Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation hosts its first charity golf tournament at Penn Oaks Golf Club, Thornbury Township.

WEST CHESTER, PA – Brian Dawkins, retired Eagles Hall of Fame safety, organized a reunion of football stars for a golf tournament at Penn Oaks Golf Club, raising more than $90,000 for youth mental wellness and single-parent families.
“It’s not about me,” Dawkins, president of founder Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation, said in a news release Friday of the tournament held earlier this month. “It’s about those young people right now that feel that life has left them. That nobody cares about them. That’s who we’re going to bless.”
Dawkins, also known as Weapon X, is regarded as one of the greatest safeties, was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2018. He is a native of Jacksonville, Fla.

“Funds raised from the events will allow us to increase our efforts to support young people’s health and cerebral wellness, expand our program to help single parent families access enrichment opportunities and to help end cycles of poverty in marginalized communities,” Dawkins said.
In addition to Dawkins, participating in the tournament included Jason Avant, Barrett Brooks, Tim Brown, Harold Carmichael, Brent Celek, Trent Cole, Hugh Douglas, Eddie George, Brandon Graham, Derrick Gunn.

Also, Ron Jaworski, Seth Joyner, Jevon Kearse, Chad Lewis, Donovan McNabb, Quintin Mikell, Mike Quick, Ike Reese, Merrill Reese, Jon Runyan, Patrick Sapp, Corey Simon, Takeo Spikes, Willie Thomas, Tra Thomas, Jeremiah Trotter, Darwin Walker and Erik Williams.
The tournament was presented by the McDade Team at CrossCountry Mortgage, Ardmore.
Assistant Principal Antonios Pitsakis of George Washington High School, high school, said during the pandemic students went through depression and anxiety.
“I want you all to know that even though it says Brian Dawkins Impact Foundation, all of you, just by being here tonight, have that impact on students like mine and on educators like me – from Philadelphia all the way down to Jacksonville,” Antonios said.
