Car Flippers Will Face Justice, Mayor Says
West Chester's Mayor says the people behind a Sout Walnut Street party will be held accountable.

West Chester Mayor Carolyn Commita says the people behind an out of control party that ended up with a car being flipped on its side on South Walnut Street will be held accountable.
Commita says the online website I'm Shmacked was definitely connected to the party and will be held accountable. "They decided to bring a party to West Chester and some of the students bought wristbands," the mayor told West Chester Patch.

When asked if the I'm Shmacked website would be held accountable for any damages that they may be responsible for the mayor said "we hold anyone liable who breaks our laws."
When it comes to West Chester University students who may eventually be proved to have taken part in the destruction and flipping the car on its side, the mayor says there could be double trouble. "Any of the people who are involved who are University students, whether it was in that incident with the I'm Shmacked party or in incidents in the borough-or outside the borough.. our University, unlike many universities, holds their students fully accountable. So not only do they answer to the justice system.. but they are also held accountable through the judicial system at the University, and we work very closely with the University on that."

Hundreds of students poured into the street early on a sunny Saturday afternoon after police, acting on noise complaints from neighbors shut the party down. Hundreds of students then poured into the streets of a residential neighborhood adjacent to the West Chester University campus.
West Chester Police Chief Scott Bohn tells Patch that he still expects more arrests as the investigation into the party and the aftermath continue. The chief said the investigation is still ongoing and investigators need more time before announcing new developments in the case.
