Chesco Coroner ID's Family Of 4 Killed In Murder-Suicide
The Chester County coroner has identified the four members of one family that police found dead in a West Whiteland Twp. home on Sunday.
WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — Four family members found dead in their West Whiteland Township home on Sunday have been identified.
In what authorities said is an apparent murder-suicide, the Chester County Coroner's office identified the family members as Deepak Prabakhar Kulkarni, 50, Arti Madhusudan Ayda, 47, Shubham Deepak Kulkarni, 15, and Sharvil Deepak Kulkarni, 8, all of West Whiteland Township, according to a Philadelphia Inquirer report.
The four were found dead in the basement of their West Whiteland Township home Sunday afternoon after an out-of-state family member reported being unable to contact them for days. Authorities on Monday called the deaths an apparent murder-suicide.

The West Whiteland Township Police Department and the Chester County District Attorney's Office are investigating four deaths at a home in the 100 block of Mountain View Road in West Whiteland Township.
Police said after relatives contacted them around 12:33 p.m. on Jan. 24 that officers used a garage door opener from one of the family's vehicles to enter the residence, where they found the two adults and two children dead in the basement, the D.A. reported Monday.

West Whiteland Township police said the evidence at the home and an initial investigation indicated a murder-suicide.
Relatives also identified the family to 6ABC news in a Monday report. The deceased woman's Facebook page shows a family celebrating holidays, a couple cutting a wedding anniversary cake together in December, and many photos of the parents with their teen son and younger son.
West Whiteland Police Chief Lee Benson said, “We are doing a thorough investigation into the events that led up to the awful tragedy on Mountain View Road. While residents may be feeling uneasy in light of this event, I assure everyone that community safety is our number one priority."
"There is no threat to the community at large," the West Whiteland Township Police Department stated on Sunday evening.
"This incident is currently being actively investigated and no further details will be released at this time, including the identity of the victims," the district attorney's office said Monday afternoon.
The case is a joint investigation between the West Whiteland Police and the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
