Chesco Man Killed In Crash During Duryea Hillclimb: Police
Kihurani Gakuu of East Caln Township died Saturday following an accident during the Duryea Hillclimb in Reading.
CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A 66-year-old Chester County man was killed Saturday in a crash at the Duryea Hill climb race at Skyline Drive near Drenkel Field in Reading.
Kihurani Gakuu of East Caln Township was pronounced dead at 4 p.m. Saturday, according to the Berks County Coroner’s office.
Gakuu's died as a result of blunt force trauma to the head, and the death has been ruled accidental, according to the coroner’s office.

Reading police said Saturday that a driver lost control and hit a tree during the race's time trials, according to WFMZ 69News.
Racing had been scheduled for the entire weekend, but Duryea Hillclimb officials canceled the race for Sunday.

The climb is a 2.2-mile course that starts at the intersection of Duryea Drive and 13th Street, and ends at the William Penn Memorial Fire Tower.
