Chesco Man, US Army Researcher, Sexually Abused 7 Children: Feds

The children, who were in his care, varied in age from nine to two, federal authorities said.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chester County man and employee of the US Army Research Laboratory sexually abused seven different children who were in his care over a three-and-a-half year period, the U.S. Attorney's office in the Eastern District of Pennsylvania announced.

Jason James Cain, 49, of Oxford, has been charged with child pornography and related charges.

Cain exposed himself to the children, touching them and having them touch him, and used video cameras to record the children as they used the bathroom, officials said.

Cain's position with the US Army Research Lab was based in Adelphi, Maryland, where he was employed as a composite materials engineer at the time of the crimes.

He has been booked in Chester County Prison since his arrest in Dec. 2023 on related charges brought against him at the state level.

If convicted of the federal charges, which include just the child pornography counts, he faces a mandatory minimum of 15 years behind bars and a maximum of life in prison. The state charges include sexual abuse and numerous related crimes.

Assistant United States Attorney Michelle Rotella is prosecuting the case.
