Chesco Records Of Deeds Wins House Seat; Unofficial Results
Chris Pielli, a Democratic candidate, has a 16 percent lead over Republican challenger Heidi VanderWaal, according to Chesco Voter Services

WEST CHESTER, PA —Chris Pielli, a Democrat who is the Chester County recorder of deeds, garnered 57.8 percent of the votes in a race for a two-year term to represent four municipalities in Chester County, according to Chester County Voter Services.
Pielli earned 16,620 votes, or 42 percent, with all of the 29 precincts reporting, according to Chester County Voter Services unofficial results.
Republican challenger Heidi VanderWaal earned 12,074 of the votes, according to the Chesvotes including 3,752 in person voted and 136 mail-in votes.

U.S. Rep. Dianne Herrin, a Democrat, did not seek re-election.
Winners are not official until approved by the Chester County Board of Elections on Nov. 28.
Under a new Pennsylvania redistricting map that is based on the 2020 census , the district covers the borough of West Chester, and East Bradford, East Goshen West Goshen townships.

The district covers 37 square miles and has a population of 66,169.
Pielli resides in West Goshen Township with his wife. They have two children.
Pielli was elected Recorder of Deeds in November 2019. He is a graduate of East Senior High School; Temple University, bachelor of science in political science, and Temple University Beasley School of Law, Juris Doctorate.
In an interview with Patch, Pielli said: “Gun violence in Pennsylvania is a public health crisis.
"The sensible approach to this is to promote less guns on the street, not more. That is why I am against the Republican proposed legislation SB 565 making it legal for anyone, without a license, in the state, to openly carry firearms of any kind in public, and lowering the age at which teens can legally carry guns.”
VanderWaal, of East Bradford Township, declined a request by Patch to provide information for a “meet the candidate"profile.
VanderWaal said on her website that her priorities are supporting families and businesses, strengthening education and holding the line on taxes.
