Chesco Welcomes 24 New Citizens
Two dozen immigrants took the oath of allegiance to become citizens during a ceremony Nov. 17 in the Chester County Justice Center.

WEST CHESTER, PA— Twenty-four people from 15 countries around the world became citizens of the United States Friday during a ceremony in the Chester County Justice Center in downtown West Chester
The new citizens were originally from the continents of Africa, Asia, Europe, North America, and South America.
Following the swearing-in, the League of Women Voters provided an opportunity for the new citizens to register to vote.

State Rep. Chris Pielli, a Chester County Democrat, congratulated the new citizens for becoming citizens.
“America is, was, and always will be a nation of immigrants,” said Pielli, as he addressed the new citizens. “I’ve always been proud of my immigrant roots. If you would see my family, you would get a snapshot of diversity in America.”

Pielli said the immigrants continue to write the story of the country’s greatness by doing their part, making us the free and unconquerable United States of America.
