Chester Co. Retirement Home Searches For Its Beloved Missing Cat

A beloved community cat who provided companionship to residents has gone missing.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — For some time now, Shady the cat has been a loving friend to residents at a Chester County retirement home. Known as the "community cat," Shady provided valued companionship and love to everyone he met.

But two weeks ago, Shady went missing from his home at Sunrise Assisted Living in Exton.

Shortly thereafter, police said that the cat had been found by someone who posted an ad on Craigslist, searching for the cat's family. They had located Shady in the Target parking lot, immediately next door.

But by the time that poster was reached out to, Shady had run away, and was on the move again.

Police and Sunrise are asking for the public's help in bringing the beloved cat home.
