Chester County Artist's November Exhibit Brings West Chester Inspirational Women

WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chesco artist's work showing inspirational women is coming to the Huston Galley in November.

Inspirational Women, a solo exhibition by award-winning Chester County artist Merrill Weber, will be on exhibit Nov. 11-30 at the Huston Gallery in West Chester, with an opening reception on Nov. 11.

Hosted by the Chester County Art Association, the collection consists of more than 50 oil painting portraits by Weber of incredible, strong women. These are women who overcame hardships, broke records, and blazed trails, shattering glass ceilings along the way, a news statement said.

The featured women range from Mother Teresa to Lizzo, from Dolly Parton to Ruth Bader Ginsburg.

According to Weber, "The inspiration for this show dates back four years ago when the climate in the country made me worry about our future. The headlines spoke of hate, fear, violence, and oppression. It was a time of reckoning for women in the United States."

For Weber, the mission was clear. She wanted to educate, to empower, and to raise appreciation for how far women have come while acknowledging how far they have to go. Researching and painting each woman has given her hope, she said.

A brief biography will accompany each painting, making it a learning experience for both children and adults.

A news release said, "This show will make you feel inspired, confident, and ready to make a difference in the world."

Weber is currently represented by seven fine art galleries. Her work has been included in hundreds of exhibitions, and in museums and international collections.

Her loose and impressionistic paintings capture snippets of life in creative ways, sharing what is meaningful to her. Weber’s creations are described by collectors as imaginative, playful, happy, and filled with energy and hope.

The Huston Gallery at the Chester County Art Association is at 100 North Bradford Ave. in West Chester.
