Chester County Ranks Top 10 For Digital Technology
Chester County's emphasis on cloud-based solutions helps to earn top ranking among the nation's 3,000-plus counties.

WEST CHESTER, PA —Chester County government ranked 10th out of more than 3,000 counties nationwide for best technology practices.
The award for counties with a population of more than 500,000 was presented by the Center for Digital Government and National Association of Counties.
The award cites best technology practices, including initiatives that save tax dollars, boost transparency, focus citizen engagement and cyber security.

The judges noted Chester County’s emphasis on automating systems through cloud-based solutions, allowing easier and faster processes for residents while also improving the efficiency of staff time.
Priorities by Chester County IT staff include research into artificial intelligence processes that automatically respond to users interested in county programs and services, and an
electronic signature process to expedite transactions and ensure security for contracts and grants.

Brian Cohen, vice-president, the center for digital government, congratulated Chester County for using technology to improve government.
“Our nation’s top counties continue to succeed and deliver on key services, breaking down barriers to broadband connectivity and accessibility, building upon innovative and smart initiatives that enable the government to better plan for and protect their citizens, constituents, and assets,” Cohen said.
