Chester County Water Quality Topic of Friday Panel Talk

WCU Office of Sustainability is partnering with other clean water advocates in a panel discussion Friday, part of an October series.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — A panel discussion on Friday night will take up questions related to water quality our communities, from the expertise of three experts working in Chester County.

The West Chester Green Team, West Chester University Office of Sustainability, and the Chester County Environment Alliance are partners for a four-part Environmental Sustainability film and panel series.

For the month of October, guest speakers are Tracy Carluccio, Deputy Director of Delaware Riverkeepers Network, Joanne Stanton, co-founder of Buxmont Coalition for Safer Water and co-author of "Behind Closed Doors: Uncovering the Practices Harming Our Children's Health and What We Can Do About It," and also John Jackson, a local entomologist.

Stanton's 2017 book, co-authored with Christine O'Donnell, is the result of the two mothers investigating health issues of their own children and finding troubling implications for the health of all children.

The Delaware Riverkeepers Network is based in Bristol, Pa. It is an environmental protection organization whose members focus on sustaining the Delaware River, which provides water for 17 million people.

The group will be part of a panel discussion on water quality in communities in and intertwined with Chester County.

The event begins at 7 p.m. on Friday, via Zoom. All are welcome to attend.
