Church Vandalism Suspect Still On The Run: Downingtown Police
Police are searching for a suspect in the vandalism of statues over the weekend at St. Joseph Parish, Downingtown.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Downingtown police are still searching for a suspect in a report of vandalism over the weekend at St. Joseph Parish, 338 Manor Ave., police said Wednesday.
Police released a photo Tuesday of a potential suspect in the destruction of the marble statues outside the front entrance of the church.
St. Anthony, St. Joseph, Our Lady of Lourdes and the Holy Family Statue were damaged Saturday night, the Rev. Stephen F. Leva in a letter to the congregation.

Leva discovered the broken statues on Sunday morning on his way to Mass.
A damage estimate was not available.

During a service on Sunday, Leva asked parishioners to keep the persons responsible for the vandalism in their prayers.
The church has more than 5,000 families and over 17,000 parishioners.
It is the largest parish in Chester County and the second largest in the Archdiocese of Philadelphia, according to the church website.
