Coatesville Man Found Guilty In Theft Of Impounded ATV: DA
A jury found a Chester County man guilty of theft and other charges related to taking a Honda ATV from a City of Coatesville impound lot.
COATESVILLE, PA — A Chester County jury found a Coatesville man guilty of charges related to the taking of a Honda ATV from a City of Coatesville impound lot.
Ivan Nunez-Hurtado, 20, of Coatesville, was found guilty of theft of a motor vehicle, receiving stolen property, conspiracy, and related offenses for stealing an ATV impounded at the City of Coatesville Impound Lot, according to a report from the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
A witness contacted Coatesville Police after observing the defendant and a juvenile co-defendant stealing the ATV, the DA's report said.

On May 19, 2020, Coatesville City Police were called to Martin Luther King Boulevard in Coatesville after suspicious activity was reported. A witness told police they saw two people pushing a black Honda 400EX ATV out of the City of Coatesville Impound Lot. Police located the ATV a block away, according to the DA's report.
Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said, "Were it not for the witness, this case might not have been solved so quickly. That's what community is all about, people watching out for each other to keep their neighborhood safe. Property theft is not a victimless crime — it affects everyone who lives and works in that community."

Nunez-Hurtado will be sentenced later.
Coatesville City Police investigated. Assistant District Attorney Dan Yarnall and Doug Rintoul were the prosecutors.
