Coatesville Woman Helped Ransack Home, Took Guns, Says Jury

WEST CHESTER, PA — A Chester County jury found a Coatesville woman guilty of multiple charges related to a 2018 home invasion in which the woman set up a prostitution call but brought along accomplices who ransacked the home and took guns and money.

Renada Myers, 25, of Coatesville, is guilty of burglary, robbery, criminal conspiracy, prostitution, and related charges. The charges stemmed from a 2018 incident at a 44-year-old victim’s house in Pennsbury Township, after the defendant solicited sex with the victim, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office

Myers will be sentenced at a later date.

Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said, "The defendant and her accomplices planned the burglary, robbery and assault of the victim and then carried them out with brutality. We thank the Pennsylvania State Police for its work on this case and for keeping the residents of Chester County safe."

On Aug. 8, 2018, Avondale State Police responded to a reported home invasion robbery at a house in the 500 block of Baltimore Pike, in Pennsbury Township. The victim reported being physically assaulted by two male suspects and suffered significant injuries to his head, face, ear, and hand. The suspects stole five firearms, $200 in cash, watches, and the victim's iPhone and car keys, according to the D.A.'s report.

According to the report, the victim texted Myers, with whom he had paid for sex earlier that year, to arrange another sexual encounter at his home on Aug. 7, 2018. As Myers left, two male accomplices forced their way into the house. The victim was assaulted, held at gunpoint, and restrained with extension cords by one accomplice as the other ransacked the house, the District Attorney's report said.

At one point, the victim was forced to unlock his gun safe, and the accomplices removed five handguns.

The victim managed to escape out a rear bedroom window and call the police after the accomplices left, the D.A. reported.

Police arrested one accomplice on Aug. 10, 2018, during a traffic stop for a stolen vehicle and found one of the stolen handguns in his possession, according to the report.

Pennsylvania State Police police investigated. Assistant District Attorneys Alexis Shaw and Ana Shubert-Baranowski were the prosecutors.
