Drugs And Guns Confiscated During Arrest Of Coatesville Man: Police

COATESVILLE, PA — A 49-year-old Coatesville man was arrested after police confiscated a United Parcel Service delivery of illegal drugs valued at $62,000 from his residence, District Attorney Deb Ryan said Tuesday.

Shawn Armstrong was arrested on charges of delivering fentanyl, cocaine, Adderall, and marijuana, weapon offenses, and related charges.

Police seized the drugs, $12,700 cash, two weapons, and a bulletproof vest.

Armstrong is in Chester Chester County Prison in lieu of $500,000 after being arraigned Friday before District Judge Scott Massey.

Ryan said fentanyl is a synthetic opioid that is up to 50 times stronger than heroin and 100 times stronger than morphine.

According to Coatesville police and county detectives:

The illegal drugs were initially detected at a postal service hub in Kentucky.

They were scheduled to be delivered on May 25 to "Sean Michael"at 319 Charles St., Coatesville at 3 p.m.
Upon delivery, the defendant took the package inside the residence.

Detectives then executed a search warrant for the residence at 3:12 pm.

Police seized the package and the suspect was taken into custody.
