ELECTION 2024: Cristian Luna Is Running For State Rep. Of District 13
Luna hopes to replace longtime Republican Lawmaker John Lawrence, who represents municipalities in southern Chesco.

WEST GROVE, PA - Chester County Deputy Prothonotary Cristian Luna announced his candidacy for state representative of the 13th District, which covers municipalities in the southern and western sections of the county.
A West Grove native and Avon Grove High School graduate, Luna said he hopes to bring a new generation’s perspective in service to the district.
“The choices being made at the state level not only impact our current residents but their children and grandchildren,” Luna said. “ Now is the time for new leadership that is not only thinking about the present but bringing innovative solutions for a strong future in Southern Chester County.”

In his job as deputy prothonotary, Luna helps domestic violence victims navigate the legal process. He maintains the protection-from-abuse records. He previously served as a bilingual legal advocate with the Domestic Violence Center of Chester County.
“Every day I handle the paperwork for some of our county’s most sensitive situations with empathy, care, and dignity,” Luna said. “I want to bring this high-quality, compassionate, and accessible service to all my constituents in southern Chester County but especially those that feel left behind by their government.”
A strong advocate for the Chester Water Authority, Luna sees protecting affordable water as a priority once elected to the state legislature.
“We all deserve access to clean, safe, and affordable drinking water and the Chester Water Authority has been providing this life-sustaining service to our community for generations,” Luna said. “Yet our current representative has voted for disastrous legislation such as Act 12, which directly led to increased efforts to privatize water systems and dramatically raised rates for families. This is why we need new, forward-thinking leadership that will protect our neighbors’ hard-earned money with their votes in Harrisburg.”
Luna said he wants to protect small local farms from threats including climate change.
“Agriculture and farming is at the heart of our community and is the driving force behind our local economy,” Luna said. “However, the impacts of climate change are wreaking havoc on our local farms and our current representative offers no solutions to address the problem. Once in Harrisburg, I’ll take meaningful action to tackle the climate crisis to save our small community farms.”
Some of Luna’s other priorities include fully and fairly funding public education for our students, defending the freedom to vote, and protecting and expanding healthcare access.
