Election Day In West Chester: What You Need To Know Today
General Election Day is today and West Chester in-person voters can check their polling place and preview a ballot.
WEST CHESTER, PA — Today is General Election day across Pennsylvania, with a historically contentious presidential race represented on our ballots, and three state races.
It's important to make sure you know where you are voting this year. Some polling places have changed due to the pandemic. If you're not sure where your polling place is, use this online tool to find out where to vote.
Polls open at 7 a.m. and close at 8 p.m.

Local races matter to everyone, as our senators and representatives steer legislation and determine spending. Here is an overview of who's on your ballot:
In West Chester, voters will weigh in on the race for Pennsylvania's 6th U.S. Congressional District, currently represented by Chrissy Houlahan (D-6th). Houlahan's seat is challenged by Republican John Emmons, with Independent candidate John McHugh also on the ballot.

In 156th Pennsylvania's State House District, West Chester Mayor and Democrat Dianne Herrin is running to take the 156th house seat that will be departed by Carolyn Comitta (D-156th). Comitta is vacating the seat as she runs for Sen. Andy Dinniman's State Senate seat in the 19th senate district.
Herrin's challenger for the 156th House of Representatives seat is Republican Len Iacono. Herrin's campaign page on social media can be accessed here. Iacono's campaign page can be found here.
Pennsylvania's State Senate 19th District covers a large and heavily populated section of Chester County, stretching from a portion of Phoenixville across much of the Route 30 corridor and southwest, to West Grove and Oxford, and including West Chester.
The state senate seat held by Sen. Andy Dinniman (D-19th) since 2006 will be vacated with Dinniman's retirement. Vying for the District 19 State Senate seat are Rep. Carolyn Comitta (D-156th) and Republican Kevin Runey.

In addition to a vote for President of the United States, voters will select candidates in three state-level offices; Attorney General, Auditor General, and State Treasurer.
