Ex-Chesco Lawyer Gets Up To Five Years Behind Bars In Death Of Husband

WEST CHESTER, PA—A 50-year-old Downingtown woman was sentenced to 18 months to five years in state prison for her role in the August 2019 fatal overdose of her husband, according to court records.

Diane Rohrman pleaded guilty to involuntary manslaughter in the death of her husband, Emeka Nwadiora Jr., 41, who fatally overdosed on fentanyl in August 2019 in the home they shared in Chester County.

Rohrman said that she bought the drugs that killed Nwadiora because he was abusive while withdrawing from the narcotic. Rohrman is in Chester County Prison, Pocopson Township, awaiting to be taken to a state prison.

Rohrman was disbarred on April 25 by the Pennsylvania Office Of Disciplinary Counsel after she resigned from practicing law. She was admitted to the Pennsylvania Bar on Nov. 30, 2001. She practiced mediation and product liability.

Rohrman prison term in the Chester County case will follow her sentence in a related case in Bucks County Court.

Rohrman is already serving a state sentence of 1 ½ to three years after being convicted in December 2022 of stealing more than $169,000 from her father while serving as power attorney for her father.

Police said she used the money for personal expenses, including home improvements and paying off credit card debt, according to court records.
