Overnight lane and ramp closures are scheduled next week on U.S. Route 202 at the Route 29 Interchange in Chester County for drainage construction that is part of the ongoing project to expand the highway to six lanes in East Whiteland and Tredyffrin townships, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said today.
PennDOT’s contractors are widening 6.5 miles of Route 202 between the Route 252/Swedesford Road Interchange in Tredyffrin Township and the Route 30 Interchange in East Whiteland Township under two construction contracts valued at $168.7 million.
Southbound Route 202 will be restricted to one lane at the Route 29 Interchange from 8 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 13) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Nov.14) for the installation of drainage pipes and inlets between the Cedar Hollow Road and Route 29 overpasses.
In addition, the southbound Route 202 off-ramp to Route 29 North/Great Valley will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday (Nov. 13) to 5 a.m. Thursday (Nov. 14). Southbound Route 202 motorists heading to this Route 29 exit will be detoured south to the Route 29 South/Malvern exit, then right on Swedesford Road to Route 29.
