The potential motivation of the man, as well as his specific plan, remains unclear. However, Krebs' brother told 6ABC that he was armed because he was scared of the violence happening at other protests around the country. He also said that he was in West Chester Saturday in support of the protest.

Other protesters reported Krebs to police when they noticed his weapon.

Officers stopped Krebs on N. High Street and searched him, discovering the handgun, a bayonet, pepper spray, assault rifle cartridges, and more on his person, police said.

The weapon was unlicensed and Krebs does not have a concealed carry permit.

No injuries were reported at the West Chester rally or as law enforcement searched Krebs's home.

The "No Kings" event in downtown West Chester was one of hundreds that took place across the country on Saturday in protest of President Trump's administration, mass deportations, and his use of executive power.

West Chester Police, Chester County Sheriffs, and the FBI are continuing to investigate.
