Exton Man Facing String Of DUI-Related Charges
A morning police stop near Whitford Hills resulted in a DUI highest rate charge for an Exton man facing other charges.
WEST WHITELAND TOWNSHIP, PA — A 48-year-0ld Exton man is charged with highest rate DUI, as he faces two sets of charges from earlier incidents this year related to alleged driving with a suspended license and without using an ignition interlock device.
West Whiteland Police reported Julius Berger of Exton is charged with DUI highest rate, and DUI driving while license is suspended after he was stopped at 9 a.m. Monday near Whitford Hills Road.
According to court documents, Berger has other outstanding charges related to a Nov. 11 incident in which he was allegedly operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device. He is charged with DUI in that incident as well as with a summary offense of driving with a suspended license.

In an Oct. 23 incident in East Brandywine Township, Berger is charged with operating a vehicle without an ignition interlock device, with a BAC of 0.025 percent or more, according to court documents.
In an Aug. 28 incident in Uwchlan Township, Berger is charged with driving with a suspended license, according to court documents.

All of the above cases are active, Chester County District Court records state.
A "DUI highest rate" charge can be made under Pennsylvania law based on circumstances in a criminal case, and not on Blood Alcohol Content alone.
