Fired West Chester Parking Director Charged With Theft

WEST CHESTER, PA — Former West Chester Parking Director Hector Mojica is accused of stealing $5,000 from the parking department, according to police records available Thursday.

Mojica, 59, of Columbia, Lancaster County, is free on $10,000 bail after being arraigned Wednesday before District Just Marian T. Vito on charges of theft, receiving stolen property and failure to make disposition of funds.

Mojica was fired from his position with the parking authority in September.

Hector Mojica in 2019 was employed in West Chester Borough and had annual salary of $65,719 according to public records.

In September 2022, police launched an internal theft investigation with the borough’s parking department.

The investigation disclosed that Mojica stole approximately $5,000 from April 2002 to September 2022.

The West Chester parking department oversees borough owned lots at 20 South High Street and 14 East Chestnut Street, meters on the streets, parking signs, ticket payments and appeals.
