Former Hockey Player At West Chester University Faces Rape Trial
Richard O. Mullineaux, of Willistown, is accused of raping a woman near campus on Oct. 31, 2021.

WEST CHESTER — A lawyer asked a Chester County judge to dismiss charges against a man accused of raping a woman on Halloween night in 2021 at a “Hockey House” near West Chester University.
Eugene Tinari, a Philadelphia lawyer, said there is a lack of evidence to prove rape charges against his client, Richard O. Mullineaux, of the 2600 block of Sagewood Drive, Willistown Township.
Mullineaux, 22, is free on $100,000 bail awaiting trial.

Police said they identified Mullineaux by matching a photo taken by the alleged victim on her phone to a photo on the university's club ice hockey website.
Mullineaux was a junior at the university and a member of the hockey team at the time the charges were filed.
