Free Gun Safety Kits At West Whiteland Police Station

Residents are invited to pick up a gun safety kit at the township police station.

WEST WHITELAND, PA —West Whiteland police are participating in a nationwide education program to promote responsible gun ownership.

The township police department partnered with Project ChildSafe to provide free gun safety kits, including a gun lock.

Project ChildSafe® is a nationwide education program that promotes responsible gun ownership and safe storage of firearms in the home.

The program was developed by the National Shooting Sports Foundation, the trade association for the firearm industry, to raise awareness about firearm safety.

Central to the program is the free cable-style gun locks and educational materials gun owners can use to securely store their guns away from unauthorized persons, including children, at-risk individuals and criminals.

West Whiteland residents can stop in anytime between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday to pick up a safety kit at the township police station, 101 Commerce Drive.
