Fright-Filled Ghost Strolls By Sleuthound Begin Soon In West Chester

WEST CHESTER, PA — The scare is in the air. Guides with ghoulish lanterns can be expected as costumed actors come along on scary strolls in West Chester to explore the Borough's historic haunts and folklore.

Sleuthound offers the fright-filled tours from mid-September through Oct. 30. This year's lineup includes exploration of the Borough's lingering disturbances, along with Battle of Brandywine history that still haunts the area.

Ghost tour-takers can sign up and choose which themed stroll they want to go on. The cost is $15 and it's, well, mostly but not absolutely for grownups, Sleuthound's website says.

Once registered, tourers will be informed of their starting point in the Borough, in order to keep one step ahead of the Ghouls, Sleuthound advised. Admission is only $10 for current military, veterans, law enforcement, and firefighters. Groups of 12 or more get a discount and pets may come along. Sign up here.

Restless Souls Lantern Stroll
Discover the truly macabre history and paranormal occurrences in the Borough of West Chester by the tenebrous moonlight. Your guide will recant disturbing facts and folklore of actual events and Spirits that took place and still haunt our little hamlet.

Spirits Haunting Spirits
For 21-plus — Ghostly expedition of the Rathskellers of the Borough. A 90-minute Lantern Lit Guided Tour of the Truly Haunted Pubs of West Chester. Tours every half hour. Stay and investigate yourself and join the next tour coming through if you'd like or stay with your group; there's safety in numbers!

Escape the Zombie Apocalypse
Keep your head about you while it seems everyone in the Borough is losing theirs. Travel our different outdoor Escape Room stations while the town Zombies stalk you. Finish in a timely manner or join the world of flesh-eaters.

SPIRITS of '77
A campfire rendition on the grounds of a local farm where the Battle of Brandywine was fought and patriots still lay where they died. Hear historical facts and haunts by the warmth of a campfire.

Dear Ole' Miss Bruster
An outdoor murder mystery with live actors. Can you solve it? Who would have ever thought that sweet, little old Ms. Bruster was coveting all that wealth? Well, it seems it wasn't a secret to all of us!

Dressing in costume is encouraged, the planners said, with prizes given out nightly for Best Costume and Best Group.
