Hank's Place In Chadds Ford Will Be Back

The popular restaurant that was severely damaged in September 2021 during Tropical Storm Ida is being rebuilt.

CHADDS FORD, PA — Hank’s Place, a popular restaurant along Route 1 that closed two years ago following flood damage from Tropical Storm Ida, is going to be demolished and rebuilt.

After two years of negotiations, the developer received the approvals necessary to begin demolition on Monday, Dec. 4. DLI Commercial in West Goshen will oversee the demolition.

Construction of the new Hank’s Place is scheduled to begin on Dec. 11. Thomas J. Dever and Dever Architects of Glen Mills is the architect for the project. The timeframe for the reopening has not yet been announced.

Hank’s Place will continue to remain open from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. at at its Kennett Square at 201 Birch St.
