Hit-And-Run Crash Ends In DUI Charge In West Chester

West Chester police examined a hit-and-run crash scene and then found the vehicle and its driver elsewhere in the borough.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A 32-year-old West Chester man was charged with Driving Under the Influence after police investigated a hit-and-run accident earlier this week.

West Chester Borough police investigated a hit-and-run crash in the 100 block of E. Nields Street around 2:40 p.m on April 25. Not long after being called to the crash site, officers reported identifying the vehicle that had struck the others. It was found in the 600 block of S. Franklin Street, police said.

A police report said the driver of the striking vehicle, Alexander Carlin, 32, of West Chester, appeared to be impaired.

Carlin is charged with DUI and Accidents involving unattended vehicles. He was released on a summons.

A preliminary hearing is pending in Chester County District Court 15-1-04.
