Home Explosion In W. Brandywine Twp. Leaves 6 Injured

An explosion and fire in a Chester County home on Hibernia Road forced evacuations and left 6 injured, including 4 children.

WEST BRANDYWINE TOWNSHIP, PA — Six people are reported injured including four children in a house explosion in West Brandywine Township Wednesday.

The explosion happened in the 400 block of Hibernia Road, near Reid Road, at 11:54 a.m. according to Chester County Emergency Services reports.

County Emergency Services reports showed more than one vehicle was transporting victims to the hospital. The report showed dozens of units responding to the incident.

6ABC reported the house was on fire and responders worked in the area. Another 6 ABC report said the immediate area was evacuated after secondary explosions. Video showed the area filled with dense smoke.

Officials said injuries did not appear to be life-threatening, according to a report from CBSPhilly.
