Homeless Man's Beard Set On Fire: West Chester Police

Police said a 30-year-old man set the beard of a homeless man on fire in downtown West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, PA —West Chester police identified a 30-year-old West Chester man as the suspect who set the beard of a homeless man on fire in the 100 block of West Gay Street.

William Bradshaw III was arraigned Wednesday before District Justice Bret Binder on charges of aggravated assault to cause injury with extreme indifference, recklessly endangering another person, and related charges.

Police said they received an anonymous tip on Aug. 20 related to a video circulating on Facebook of a homeless man having his beard set on fire by an unknown male.

An investigation disclosed Bradshaw as the suspect who set the homeless man's beard on fire, according to police. Bradshaw remains free on $50,000 bail to await a preliminary scheduled on Sept. 15.
