Jury Finds Man Guilty Of Robbery In West Chester Home Break-In
A man who invaded a West Chester home, demanded money and drugs, and then shot one of 4 people in the house was found guilty of robbery.

WEST CHESTER, PA — A man who shot a West Chester resident during a 2019 home invasion has been found guilty in Chester County court.
A jury on June 24 found Shacube Young, 31, of Philadelphia, guilty of Robbery and Burglary related to a 2019 home invasion in West Chester, according to the Chester County District Attorney's Office.
Young will be sentenced at a later date.

Chester County District Attorney Deb Ryan said, "This was a violent home invasion by the defendant who shot a victim while attempting to steal money and drugs. It was a terrifying experience for the victims to have a total stranger burst into the house brandishing a gun. He will be held accountable for his criminal actions."
On Sept. 14, 2019, West Chester Police were called to a home on Matlack Street in West Chester for the report of a man with a gun. The defendant had entered the home demanding drugs and money from the four people in the home.

During the robbery, the defendant shot one of the victims. Then, finding no drugs, he fled with money he stole from the victims, the D.A.'s report said.
Police apprehended him shortly afterward, according to the report.
Court documents show Young in 2006 pleaded guilty to Criminal Attempt, Murder; and Possession of a Firearm by a minor and was sentenced to eight years in prison.
The West Chester Borough Police Department investigated this case. Senior Deputy District Attorney Carlos Barraza and Assistant District Attorney Anastasia Shubert-Baranowski were the prosecutors.
