Juvenile Charged With Car Theft: West Chester Police

Police also arrested suspects on charges of assault and retail theft.

WEST CHESTER, PA A 14-year-old Coatesville boy was arrested in a Wawa parking lot in West Chester in connection with the theft of a motor vehicle in Coatesville, police said.

The boy, whose name is not being released because he is a juvenile, is awaiting a preliminary hearing on charges of vehicle theft and receiving stolen property.

Police said at 1:40 a.m. on Aug. 9 the boy was in a stolen vehicle in the 700 block of Gay St.

An investigation disclosed the vehicle was stolen the day before in Coatesville.

Police also arrested these suspects:
  • Eliot Dalton, 38, of West Chester, is free on nominal bail awaiting a preliminary hearing on a charge of retail theft. Police said he stole items on Aug. 4 from the Giant Food Stores in the 600 block of Downingtown Pike.
  • Carlos Ramirez, 27, of West Chester, is free on $20,000 awaiting trial on charges of theft, simple assault, and criminal mischief. Police said he assaulted an unidentified victim during a fight on July 24 in the 100 block of South Worthington Street in West Chester.
  • Jonathan K. McPherson, 58, of Philadelphia is free on $30,000 bail on charges of retail theft, public drunkenness and disorderly conduct. Police said McPherson was leaving the store, Tienda Mexicana, 229 W. Chestnut St. on Aug. 9 without paying for the several items.
