CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Several weeks after surviving unimaginable abuse and being rescued from horrific conditions in Chester County, a heroic little kitten has found her forever home.

The kitten Roo, whose leg was partially amputated and duct-taped when Brandywine Valley SPCA officers found her, has been officially adopted by her foster family.

Miraculously, the feisty feline is reported to not only be healthy, but in good spirits.

"You'd never know the horrific start Roo had to her life," the SPCA shared. "Her sass and fighting spirit played a big factor in her survival."

The adoption comes after Roo spent several weeks with her soon-to-be new family, a staff member at Brandywine Valley SPCA.

While convalescing at the staff member's home, she made friends with the other cats and dogs, and showed that she had, against all odds, moved beyond the trauma she'd faced.

"Daring and determined, Roo wanted nothing more than to run around and play with the other animals," the SPCA added. "She pushed past any limitations she could've had by maneuvering her balance and working to jump onto the furniture and up and down the stairs. She's a little girl who knows what she wants and will make sure you know it too."

The staff member who adopted her had recently lost her own "soul cat" and knew that she had found her new love in Roo when Roo curled up in her arms and fell asleep with her, the same way her old cat would.

It's a happy end to what had been a deeply disturbing story. Roo was among 38 abused animals, including other cats, a dog, a turtle, and a rabbit, rescued from a Coatesville hoarder's home in March. To donate to help with the care of the abused animals, see here.
