Landmark Americana Golf for Kids Success

Helping 220 Children

Seventy-six golfers participated in 18 holes of scramble golf at the Broad Run Golfers Club, raising funds for homeless and near homeless children in Chester County.

Landmark Americana Tap & Grill hosted its Fourth Annual Charity Golf Tournament sponsored in West Chester on Monday, September 24 raising $19,210.24 to support children facing homelessness.

“The Landmark Americana Golf for Kids event was a huge success this year! The weather was perfect. The golf course was in spectacular condition and we’re already looking forward to next year’s event. Thanks to all the Landmark Americana and Vanguard employee volunteers who put it together,” said Catherine Friedman, Friends Association Executive Director.

First place trophies went to the team of Jeremy Pilkerton, Steve Spera, and Nick Vecchio. Second place winners were: Rob Collins, Tim Straightiff, Doug White and Pete Greskoff.

Tournament participants enjoyed a variety of competitions in addition to 18 holes of scramble golf tournament play. Activities included a “Closest to the Pin” competition won by Al Buzzard, “Longest Drive Men by Mike Wharton and Longest Drive Ladies won by Pat Kimmel.

“It is such an honor to be able to host members of the local community and supporters of the organization in our annual Golf Tournament” said Kyle Veale, Landmark Americana Tap & Grill Director of Operations. “We are so lucky to be able to play such an outstanding golf course in the area and work with the hard working staff of Friends Association for Care & Protection of Children.”

Friends Association promotes the independence of families with children by providing shelter, programs and services that prevent and end homelessness in Chester County. Last year, Friends Association saved 122 families and 270 children from homelessness.
