Man Busted Glass To Break Into Kennett Gas Station, Stealing: Police

Kennett Square Police are looking for a man they allege threw a rock into a gas station door and stole items from inside.

KENNETT SQUARE, PA — Police in Kennett Square have identified a man seen on video surveillance breaking a gas station window and are looking for him after he's been charged with burglary and other crimes.

On Oct. 10 at 4:33 a.m. officers were called to the Star Gas and Diesel businesses the 700 block of W. Cypress Street in Kennett Square. On arrival, police found the glass pane in the front door to be smashed in, according to the police report.

Police obtained a surveillance recording from the business owner and were able to identify the person seen throwing a large rock through the front door's glass pane as Ryan Nay, 24, of Lewes, Delaware. The video also showed the suspect behind the counter inside the gas station stealing items, the police report said.

Police reported that damaged and stolen items were worth approximately $2,300.

Nay is charged in the incident with burglary, criminal trespass, receiving stolen property and theft by unlawful taking, according to court documents.

Kennett Square Police on Tuesday obtained a warrant to take Nay into custody on the charges.
