Man Tries to Run from DUI Charge

The following information is provided by the West Chester Police Department.

West Chester Police had to chase down a West Chester man after he tried to flea the scene of a car accident on Downingtown Pike, according to a report from the West Chester Police Department.

According to reports, police arrived at the scene of a one-car accident on the 500 block of Downingtown Pike on Nov 16 at approximately 2:45 a.m. Upon investigation, police determined that the driver, a 22-year-old West Chester man, was driving under the influence at the time of the accident. The man then tried to flea the scene on foot and, after a short chase, was arrested by police. He was charged with DUI and sent to Chester County Prison after he was unable to post bail.
