CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Where are the best places to live in the Philadelphia area? Some of them are right here in Chester County and at the top of the list is Chesterbrook.

That's probably not a surprise to Chesco residents who know it's a great place to live, but it's nice when data wonks dig in and find the evidence.

Data compiler Niche has released its rankings of the best places to live in the Philadelphia metro region for 2021. Chesterbrook tops the list, but also recognized are East Whiteland Township, Exton, Devon, Upper Uwchlan Township, Berwyn Township, Birmingham and East Marlborough townships and others.

The Best Places to Live ranking provides a comprehensive assessment of the overall livability of an area. This grade takes into account several key factors of a location, including the quality of local schools, crime rates, housing trends, employment statistics, and access to amenities in an attempt to measure the overall quality of an area.
