MANOR TOWNSHIP, PA — A child star in "My Idiot Brother" and Millersville University student walked away from campus on Tuesday evening and was not seen again until search-and-rescue crews found 19-year-old Matthew Mindler dead on Saturday morning.

The young man was from Hellertown, Pennsylvania, and was a first-year student at Millersville University in Lancaster County, the University said. He had not been to classes late in the week, and was last seen leaving his residence hall at 8 p.m. Tuesday.

University President Daniel A. Wubah announced in a news release Saturday that Mindler was reported missing Thursday and was found Saturday in Manor Township, not far from the state university campus. "This is a time of grief for the family, our campus and the community," Wubah said.

University Police said he was found in a wooded area and that adjoins the university campus. MU Police Chief Pete Anders said Mindler had posted social media pictures of himself "in a positive way" in the wooded area, according to a report by ABC27.

The University said Mindler's body was transported to the Lancaster County Forensic Center "for further investigation" after crews found him.

On Monday the Lancaster County Coroner determined Mindler's death was a suicide, LancasterOnline reported.

Wubah told the community, "I ask that the campus community come together to support each other, and our students, during this difficult time."

In 2011, Mindler portrayed the role of River alongside Paul Rudd in the comedy "Our Idiot Brother." His most recent role was in 2016, according to IMDb, when he played the role of Peter in TV's "Chad: An American Boy," according to a USA Today report.
