New Wildflower Meadow Coming To Hibernia Park in Chester County
Native wildflower and warm-season grass meadows cover 155 acres of Chester County parks.

WEST CALN, PA – A five-acre native wildflower and warm-season grass meadow is a new attraction at Hibernia County Park, off Cedar Knoll Road in West Caln Township.
The Chester County Department of Parks and Preservation added the new meadow to the county’s sustainable ecosystems that include Nottingham County Park, Springton Manor Farm Park, and Warwick County Park.
Wildflower and warm-season grass meadows provide natural beauty, incorporate food and cover for a variety of wildlife species, reduce stormwater runoff, and attract pollinators.

“Our goals in creating these native wildflower meadows are to add diverse habitat for wildlife value and showcase nature’s beauty, with a primary intention to attract pollinators such,” said Owen Prusack, Chester County parks and trails manager.
'Prusack said meadows reduce the county’s carbon footprint because they only have to be mowed once a year.

The five acres added at Hibernia bring the total warm-season grass and wildflower meadow acreage in Chester County parks to 155 acres.
