No COVID Deaths Reported In Chesco So Far In September

Daily testing has slowed in Chester County, along with deaths from COVID-19, the last casualty being reported on Aug. 31.

CHESTER COUNTY, PA — Positive cases dwindled into the teens, then single digits over the weekend, and on Sept. 13 Chester County reported zero new COVID-19 cases, as the number of persons being tested also went down.

The better news is there have been no deaths in Chester County so far this month.

Negative tests for COVID-19 continue to outpace poCsitives by far as September's half-way point approaches, though overall testing is down, according to the county's official reporting web page.

The last COVID-19 death in the county was recorded on Aug. 31. Chester County has seen 362 deaths from COVID-19. The following municipalities have seen death counts in the double-digits: Willisgtown Township, 51; East Vincent Township, 39; East Goshen Township, 38; East Bradford Township, 28; Phoenixville Borough, 23; West Chester Borough, 19; Caln Township, 16; Tredyffrin Township, 14, West Brandywine Township, 13, East Caln Township, 12; West Goshen Township, 12.

Of Chester County's 6,294 positive COVID-19 tests, West Chester Borough had the most at 367 positive tests. There have been 73,572 negative test results in the county to date. People in there twenties lead in positive cases, with 1,331. People in their 50s and 60s combined account for 1,536 positive cases in the county.

Chester County Health Department notes that "There may be differences in data reported by the Chester County Health Department and the PA Department of Health. This is usually due to cases that are incorrectly assigned to counties, which is corrected prior to reporting. The local Health Department data reflects the most accurate data."
