One of the Weekend Shooting Victims is a Pro Athlete

Professional soccer player suffered multiple injuries in an early morning shooting on the street in downtown West Chester.

One of the two men injured in a weekend shooting incident in downtown West Chester is a professional soccer player, according to multiple reports.

West Chester Police say Jason Hotchkin, 34, was shot multiple times early Sunday morning. He was taken to Paoli Hospital where he was listed in critical condition in the hours after the shooting.

Hotchkin played 13 games for the Harrisburg Heat of the Arena Soccer League in the 2012-2013 season. The league is the largest and longest-running arena soccer organization in the US. Its season starts again in November.

The Harrisburg Heat is closely following the shooting of Jason Hotchkin, a player from the Heat's 2012-13 season. According to reports, Hotchkin was shot multiple times in the arms, legs, and back during an incident in West Chester PA early Sunday morning. He is reportedly in stable condition in Paoli Hospital. “We are shocked by the shooting and following the incident very closely,” commented

Heat Managing Partner David Grimaldi. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Jason for a full recovery."

West Chester Police say Police say Hotchkin was shot multiple times in the leg, arms and back. Police say Maffat Odvor, 43, also from Harrisburg, was treated at Chester County Hospital for "minor injuries from assault." 

25-year-old Curtis Zebley of Kennett Square is being charged with attempted homicide and related charges following an altercation between what police say was a small group of people and at least two men who were injured early Sunday morning on North Chestnut Street in downtown West Chester. Zebley was arraigned Sunday evening and is being held n $500,000 bail at Chester County Prison awaiting a preliminary hearing.
