OutFest Celebrates LGBTQ+ History Month In Chesco

The celebration is set for Saturday, Oct. 14, at Gay and Church streets in West Chester.

WEST CHESTER, PA —Chester County OutFest is ready to shine a light on LGBTQ+ history and culture on Saturday, Oct. 14 at, Gay and Church streets in down West Chester.

This year's festival coincides with LGBTQ+ History Month, a time to reflect on the accomplishments and struggles of the LGBTQ+ community throughout history.

It is also a time to celebrate National Coming Out Day, which is observed on Oct. 11. The day celebrates those in the LGBTQ+ community who have shared their authentic selves publicly, and provides confidence to those to do so.

Events:

  • Main Stage Entertainment: The main stage features a diverse lineup of performers including DJ Triple B, Aubrey Jones, Alexis Cunningham, Sylvia Fisher, and drag queens Roxanne Rohls, Ophelia Hotass, Zephyra Rivers, and Asia Monroe. All performances are family-friendly. A drag show starts at 3 p.m. where the 2024 Ms. Chester County Pride will be crowned.
  • Vendor Village: A Vendor Village offers merchandise and art, showcasing local businesses and organizations that support LGBTQ+ rights and inclusivity. Food and beverages will be available.
  • Youth and Family Zone: Families are welcome to bring their children to a dedicated area featuring age-appropriate activities, games, and resources. It's an opportunity for parents and guardians to engage in meaningful conversations about diversity and acceptance. This zone will feature one of our favorite local face painters.
  • Community Resources: LGBT Equality Alliance of Chester County and other local advocacy groups will be on hand to provide information and resources to those in need of support or looking to get involved in the community.
  • After Party: Join LGBT Equality Alliance, our favorite drag queens, and the newly crowned 2023 Ms. Chester County Pride from 5 to 10 p.m. at Artillery Brewing 333 Granite Alley, West Chester.
